I'm not here to steal your data, but my website does use some analytics tools to help understand what content is being engaged with.

This website is operated by James White, who is citizen of the United Kingdom. This website is also hosted in the United Kingdom but uses various services which may originate in other countries but have a legal requirement and to comply to UK laws and legislation.

What information is collected

The following information is collected, depending on your interaction or consent permissions for cookies.

  • Usage data: IP address, browser type (user agent), Internet Service Provider (ISP). This information is visible in my Web Access Firewall (WAF) and server logs. This is collected to help monitor requests to this website and help block bad traffic e.g. bots or mitigate Distrubted Denial of Service (DDos) attacks, without disrupting normal user behaviour or requests.
  • Analytics data:  Pages visited, time spent and other metrics/interactions are measured through Google Analytics when consent for analytics cookies is granted.
  • Comment data: Username, email address, and comment content, this is processed by Disqus.
  • Embedded content interactions: When you interact with embedded posts from Twitter/X, GitHub Gists, or YouTube, these platforms may collect data about you.
  • Contact Form - My contact form collects the following personal information, Name, Email Address, this is to allow for minimum information to reply or follow up accordingly.

I do not collect sensitive personal data unless explicitly provided by you.

Regardless of your country of origin or territory, cookies outside of the necessary/functional categorisation are only used when consent has been granted.
